| This
intricately embroidered silk bodice is based on an original 18th century
pattern. Adjusted to flatter the modern figure, it provides an enviable
décolletage and waist. The characteristic elbow length sleeves
are finished with generous lace flounces. This eighteenth century
style bodice is shown with a full silk skirt worn over a bum-roll to give
the authentic period shape. The bodice is fully boned with back lacing.
This elegant and versatile shape can be constructed in a multitude of different fabrics, colours and decoration. Added details can be quite over-the-top (think "Dangerous Liaisons") or more restrained (as in Christina Ricci's costumes in "Sleepy Hollow"). From
£800-£1000 plus fabric and decoration. |
