| This richly coloured
velvet bodice is based on an original 18th century pattern. Adjusted
to flatter the modern figure, it provides an enviable décolletage
and waist. The characteristic elbow length sleeves are finished with
silk taffeta cuffs and lace flounces. This eighteenth century style
bodice is shown with a full tulle skirt to give a more contemporary
edge. The bodice is fully boned with back lacing.
This elegant and versatile shape can be constructed in a multitude of different fabrics, colours and decoration. Added details can be quite over-the-top (think "Dangerous Liaisons") or more restrained (as in Christina Ricci's costumes in "Sleepy Hollow"). Please enquire for further details. |
